Wednesday: Lecture on Newtown Creek Ecology

On Wednesday, May 10, Dr. Eric W. Sanderson, director of the Mannahatta and Welikia projects at the Wildlife Conservation Society will deliver a lecture on the ecology of Newtown Creek.

The speech, set for 6 p.m., will take place after a green roof tour at 520 Kingsland Avenue.

Sanderson will discuss his latest findings and the work he and his colleagues are doing to reconstruct pre-development ecology (circa 1609). He will talk about how that work informs efforts to envision a sustainable future for Newtown Creek.

Refreshments will be served at the event. RSVP for the free lecture here.
